Novus Medical is proud to announce the launch of the newest airway clearance technology to come to Canada. The Physio-Assist Simeox is unlike any other airway clearance device on the market today. The current devices, known as PEP or Positive Expiratory Pressure Oscillating devices, are devices that patients need to forcibly breath through, activating a positive pressure to open airways and a flutter mechanism to mechanically jostle secretions. Patients find this treatment tiring and they are only modestly effective at best. The Simeox uses a shockwave technology to liquify secretions located in the deepest areas of the lung whilst calmly breathing through the device. The 15 minute treatment does not cause the patients to get tired or dizzy. It’s effortless and effective, mobilizing secretions from the farthest reaches of the lungs.
Patients who will benefit from the Simeox are patients with bronchiectasis, COPD, CF and some other rare types of ciliary disfunction.
